Principal's Post
What a week! Not only did we make our Marathon goal of $18,000 to support our staff in providing amazing enrichment opportunities for our students but we also kicked off the OLP Pumpkin Patch this weekend AND hosted our first Parents' Night Out event which helps the 8th graders fundraiser for their Chicago trip. When I reflect on all that OLP is doing as far as curriculum enrichment and facility enhancement to ensure a viable future for OLP students and families to come, I am overwhelmed with what this community can do! In fact, I do not think there is anything we cannot do. I believe that the same mentality is true regarding our students. There is nothing that they cannot achieve or accomplish when we continue to support their learning environment, social-emotional health, and spiritual journey.
So, when you sit down with your child's teacher at conferences today or tomorrow, (Did you forget conferences?? No worries, I'll put the links below) know that you all make a superhero team in ensuring the success of your curious learner. There is nothing that we cannot accomplish here at #OLPEAGLENATION!
We did it! We raised over $18,000 for Enrichment Opportunities for our students! This doubles what we were able to raise last year. Look for more details about how our staff and students engage in the different learning opportunities outside of the school building.
Additionally, since we made our goal, Mr. Berry will be rooftop camping as promised. Stay tuned for a date!
The Pumpkins Are Here!
What: OLP Pumpkin Patch
Where: OLP lawn off 54th
When: Daily 11 AM-7 PM with a Food Truck
Who: EVERYONE!
We also could use some volunteers to staff the Patch for a few hours here and there! Click the button below to help.
This summer 19 OLP students complete the Summer Reading Challenge and together they read 26,700 minutes (445 hours). Wow!
To celebrate their achievement, they received a special certificate and ice cream treat.
We Need Grandparent Information!
Grandparents are vital to our community and we want to keep them involved and informed about what we are doing here at OLP. Please fill out his short survey as we want to be intentional about reaching our Granbdparent community.
(Especially for our coming Pumpkin Patch! Use the link below and find the Pumpkin Patch to help us with host the most smashing pumpkin patch of all time!!!)
Please join the community in praying the Rosary by candlelight in the Outdoor Classroom, Monday, October 21 at 6:30 pm (we will pray in the church if there is inclimate weather). There will be materials to help you pray along, including rosaries and a leader, so do not worry if you are a little unsure of how to say the rosary.
Men's Club Vikings Game Watch
What better way to spend an autumn evening than cheering on our Vikings as they take on the Washington Redskins on Thursday, October 24!
Join the men from the Men’s Club to watch the game at 7:00 pm at Pizza Luce (800 W 66th Street) in Richfield.
All the men from the school are welcome and encouraged to come!
Scholarship Opportunities
Many of our families have taken advantage of the Schulze Early Learning Scholarship Program and so should you.
Box Tops is changing how OLP can earn money. It has gone mobile app! Simple scan and earn. Please see the attached flyer from Box Tops to see how easy this can be.
